Private Percy
Bradbury, 5833402, served with the 5th Suffolk Battalion despite living in Bankside, Southall, Middlesex, London, at that
time.
Percy was captured after the fall of Singapore with the 5th Suffolk
Battalion and died as a Prisoner of War of the Japanese, aged 26, on the 21st July 1943 from dysentery and is
buried in Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Plot 1, Row P, Collective Grave 54-58.
Percy's nephew, Ken, (Lee's father) was born in January 1933 (the
same day Hitler took power in Germany) and remembers Percy sitting in the parlour at Bankside, Southall with his brother, in
uniform just before leaving the UK.
