The front of the building of what used to be the Brandon Forest Community School.  During the war it was the upper building for the Brandon Council School, a mixed school for children aged 8 to 14 years.  At that time it contained 8 classrooms, plus a domestic science (woodwork) room and 1 Head Teacher's room.  The Head Teacher at the time was Mr. Lumsden who served from 11th September 1939 to 22nd April 1949, when he died after a long illness.

This view is taken from the Market Hill.  The clock still works and now has a bell attached to the wall that chimes on the hour.
