100 years ago, in June, Teddy Caban was born. Most people know him as a gents hairdresser on Brandon’s High Street, but during WW2 he was a highly regarded RAF hero.
Born in June 1920, Teddy enlisted when he was eighteen and was thrown straight into war when aged 19. By his 21st birthday he had flown over 40 missions. His 42nd mission saw his plane crash land in a Rotterdam street, with all three crew being taken prisoner. Full details can be found here.
